Front Range Electrochemistry Workshop

Front Range Electrochemistry Workshop

August 18-19, 2025

University of Colorado Boulder

Goal: Electrochemistry is increasingly recognized as a regional strength in the broader Front Range. This includes catalysis, energy storage and conversion, and materials discovery often aided by artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). The goal of this workshop is to bring together this growing community, create an opportunity to share research, and to provide a forum for seeding new collaborations.

Research areas: Li-ion and beyond Li-ion batteries, including transition metal cathodes, LiS, solid state, and Na-ion; redox flow batteries; photoelectrochemistry; fuel cells, electrowinning; electrolysis, CO2 reduction; machine learning force fields (MLFFs); and related areas.

Structure: With the focus on strengthening the Front Range solid state chemistry community, the workshop has three core components:

  • Invited talks from faculty
  • Poster sessions (cash prizes!)
  • New collaboration pitch session (cash prizes for graduate students!)

Attendees:  The conference is free and we welcome anyone at any stage in their scientific career interested in collaborating on electrochemistry-related projects. Attendees are strongly encouraged to present a poster on their ongoing scientific efforts.
